I know I am pretty new to posting on here, so I thought I would start a post to show the work I have done to my 84 Hurst/Olds. I have a lot of different pictures from start to... well we all know we are never finished  So Hope you all like it and feel free to ask any questions.

So the story behind my car is this. I found two real 84 Hurst/Olds in a field in Hamilton, MT. The lady who owned them was trying to move and both cars did not run, I was able to get both cars from her for $1200 :D. Brought them back to the shop I work at and started making one good car. I was wanting a little more power then the stock 307 so my friend, who has too many connections found one for me for $600, it was an already built Olds 455, i am limited on what is all in it, but It has been bored .30 over to 461 and has a mild cam, torker 2 intake and holley 750 double pumper that we modified a little. I ended up getting all the parts off the car i wanted and then sold the other car that was painted the 83 colors, who knows why, for $1600. Not too bad of a deal so far. Then just started making it run.

The lady i bought the car from told me the reason the engine didn't run on the silver car. She said that it use to be her daily driver and she took it to get the oil changed at a shop, they where so happy to go and play with the shifters they forgot to put the oil back in it, they then seized the motor. She was offered cash to fix the motor but need the money for some extra expenses and was never able to get the car fixed. It sat in her yard for 9 years before i got it. So to make the car drivable we yarded out the paper weight engine and cleaned the engine compartment. I freshened up the look of the motor by painting in black, and getting some different plug wires. We then squeezed it in place.. it need some new motor mounts so those where replace also. We where able to keep the a/c, I wanted to have as many functions of a modern car in the g body... that became kind of a theme for this build.

So we got her to run! She needed some tuning and exhaust but she did move by herself. I had to video tape her first burnout so this is it, click on this and it should take you to youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV3I7ygf3x4. I was given a free set of pypes 3in stainless steel exhaust, but it was for an A-body Chevelle, So we made it fit, nothing is better then free . We had to do allot of fitting, notching the crossmember and torching to make fit. I then moved on to cleaning out the interior and trying to get it presentable for its first time on the street in years. It cleaned up pretty good inside, the dash has a couple cracks and the headliner is starting to sag in a few spots but it doesn't look half bad, and all the electric stuff works, windows, drivers seat, and trunk popper.

So after licensing her I started on a little body work, before i had to put it a way for winter. I Started by getting things to fit better and check for any problem areas like rust... the car had no rust i was shocked but happy. I Fixed the front end first and got it in primer because it was gonna be outside for the winter. I also had to modify the hood a little to fit the taller intake not what i wanted to do but oh well. I fixed the wing and hood bump. I then cleaned up under the hood a little more. Then put her away for winter.

So its late spring and I committed to the body work with the help from my friend Greg who works with me. We de-trimmed everything, and went to town on the body work, and welding all the holes someone drilled in the doors and quarter to put a molding on. We also removed the antenna and shaved that also. The whole car is in primer now. Before we put the car in paint we did some work to the suspension. I picked up lowering springs and shocks beltech front and rear and poly bushings all around. Now she sits a little lower.

now the car is ready for some painting, the jams are first. I wanted to update the color a little but still going with hurst/olds paint scheme. I decided on the 11 Camaro silver Ice as the formula but took out the yellow toner and put a brighter metallic in it to make it a brighter cleaner silver. I was able to paint around the vehicle option codes on the underside of the deck lid. I could not salvage the vin tag on the drivers door it was too far gone.

the body is now ready for paint. I have decide to paint all the stripes on, no more fading sticker stripes. I had a sign place make me some paint masks so i could paint the "Hurst/Olds" on as well. Laying out the strips took a little time but came out great :D. then had to follow the stripes on the bumpers, header panel, and taillights.
