Need tips on removing steering wheel on 84 Cutlass.

Going to change my Steering wheel today in my 84 Cutlass but never done it before. Any tips will be appreciated thanks in advance.

remove the horn button; then the nut retainer and horn pin, sleeve and spring; then remove the nut and use a steering wheel puller to remove the wheel

just to add.....make sure the wheels of the car, not the steering wheel, are lined up straight...and when you install the new one, it should be perfectly centered.

if I am not mistaken the splines are set up so the wheel can only go on one way plus the wheel is located for the sleeve from the turn signal cam.

when you mentioned it I had to think back and try to remember. It was a good point to bring up though cause I broke the sleeve on the turn signal cam once when I wasn't careful about getting the wheel back on.
