Hey fellas, my 84 Cutlass is coming together just as I had visioned back in '06, and I am more than happy about it's progress. But, I need to find someone in Ohio that knows a little something about body work. The car used to have chrome trim along the bottom before I removed it and painted it black. Where the trim was, there is rust coming back through the paint (paint was done by a vocational school here in Ohio). I want to get to it sooner than later to save any further damage. I wish I had took pictures when I was home recently but I think you all can get the picture of what I'm talking about. I will post a few pictures so you can see the machine I am talking about. My first car, daily driver in HS, and now my little hot rod.

One more thing is, at the bottom of the door, it's pretty bad, again, where the chrome was, and I cannot afford to get a new door (I don't think). What are my options here, regarding the rocker panels?

Does anyone have anyone in mind that could help or lead me to someone that can help me with this preferably over the winter? I have a trailer and can trailer it if need be.

Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys for all your help so far, this is an awesome group.

id suggest you get a new door, if you have a salvage yard in your area,we have pull-a-part here in georgia where you can actually go on the lot and pull parts yourself.but i'd recommend you search for one in your area and just a get a new door they're usually pretty cheap at salvage yards.40 bucks max most the time you can find one in pretty good condition with no rust,id buy one with out the chrome trim 9 times out of 10 if its been sitting out its more than likely going to have some sort of rust..a lot of times when you have rust its kind of an infection its not going to just go away even if you spray over it,most people end up having to cut the rusted area out completely and that's going to cost a bit more than a door to get someone who knows what they're doing to cut and replace the steel so thats just my .02.hope it helps. nice car btw

What part of Ohio? I may have a couple doors.
