Looks great...

But being a purist, I've just GOT to ask as to why it has the electronic cruise control (RPO K34) in front of the intake manifold instead of the K35 on the fenderwell, the 84/85 oil cap, and an 84+ air cleaner housing.

Just wondering. It appears as if an 84 engine/controls were merged into the 83? Interesting combo as I think the 84-up cruise control is way better than the 83-earlier cruise units anyway.

I agree it is super clean and looks great but I also noticed the 84 radio and 84 horn button.

Great looking, I'm 1st in line if you ever decide to sell

69 & 2nd,

Damn, you guys are GOOD, picky & sticklers, but good. I'd be right with you nit-picking BUT for some reason I always give a pass to the late-A, G-body H/Os (except the '88s, can't stand those & don't even consider them H/Os). For these it's more of seeing them in great shape than seeing them bombed out and depleted like most of them were by the mid-90s and beyond...

You guys know way more on these than I do. I did a vin check on the car and everything possible to confirm it was a HO.
The car was a frame off restoration way back, not sure if it's a REBODY car, could very well be, have had this discussion before.
The bodyshop and I have had countless discussions and our thoughts on the cars past too.
All the HO "stuff" is on the car. Whoever did the work, very meticulous and knew the value of the car.
I wish I knew the history, and honestly would have debated on the restoration possibly if I know what I know now.
I have way too much in the car, do not plan on selling it either, it's art, and a car I've always loved.
My brother had a virgin car, 18k miles, we compared so much, but never thought to compare things like you've brought up.
We've seen some odd things in old OLDS history, 442's with Cutlass emblems, so we didn't think too much about it.
Attached is his car, which he sold a few years back.
I've googled and have seen this radio in these cars, which confused me more. I did get the one with the car that I recall them coming with?
Your guess is as good as mine. If it was hit early on, someone knew or had the insight to do what they did.
I know to look and find parts for these cars years back when I bought it, nearly impossible.
I could speculate forever, and have... I'm not sure it's worth doing in my shoes...
I guess I'd rather have a rebody PERFECT than one that is unrestrorable, and I've seen so many of them.
:)
