I'm looking for opinions on tire sizes for my 87 Cutalss. I'm currently thinking about going from 215/70/14 to 245/60/15 both on Cutlass wheels. I want to fill my wheel wells more and have a wider stance with the 60 series tire on 15x7 wheels. Do you think this will look ok? Anyone have a picture of their car with this tire wheel combo? Here is a pic of my car with the 215/70/14 on it.

Well a buddy had a 87 mc ss with 235 60 15 up front and 245 60 15 out back and it gave it a real mean stance. Im gonna go wirh 235 60 15 all the way around right now i have 215 70 14 and to me there just to small and to narrow. And 245 60 15 on the front might scrub because its a pretty wide tire

I've looked at a few last summer at a car show that had 245/60/14 on them. They had factory 14x6 Olds wheels on them. The wheels I'm going with are 15x7 wheels off a 442 so I'm sure they will be wider. I'm going to lower the car as we'll so I should take that into consideration.

My plan is to go 255/70/15 in the rear.

Keep in mind when choosing a tire size that some sizes aren't available for certain brands. So say you wanted a larger sized tire in the rear and you wanted to go with ( for example ) the Firestone Indy 500 tires. That model tire may be available in the size you want for the rear but not in the size you want in the front ( or vice versa ).

Also keep in mind your speedo. IMO, it's best to go with a tire size that was available from the factory. That way you can easily find out what speedo gear you need to have an accurate speedo. Because of this, I recomend 235/60/15's. That is the same tire height as the 215/65/15's which were stock on 80's 442's/H/O's, so it's easy to get the proper speedo gear.

Around here Pepboys has Futura tires in the size I'm looking for at about 100 bucks a pop. I've had good luck with their brand in the past and it even has the raised white letters. As far as the speedo is concerned.. Mine has been off since I bought it so I'm no so much worried about it. It works when it wants to. Lol.
