I can't find the OEM specs for the springs I already have in my Cutlass. The build sheet list it as DW, and my manuals I have don't list the specs for the springs. The car has no A/C, and is the 260 V8.

There are 3 available and I am curious which one is the best match to what I already have?

I am guessing it would be the 5604 as the best match. This is my daily driver so I am not looking to drop the car or stiffen the wheel travel. I am planning to install KYB gas shocks.

Anyway, here are the specs for the 3 springs avail and the differences from Summit and the Moog online chart.

# spring rate load
5602 347 1680
5604 same 1760
5608 424 1640

5606 and 5608 were used in the F41 cars like the SS, 442 etc. My guess is 5604 is V8 cars w A/C regular suspension. 5602 maybe V6 cars regular suspension or non A/C V8 cars. Maybe someone has more insight on this. IMO 5606 springs ride great for a daily driver not too stiff but better body roll resistance that 5604. I am personally switching my 5608 to 5662 since my car is a nice weather only weekend bruiser.

Thanks Chris. I'll take a look at the 5606. Summit came up with those 3 springs for a 78 Cutlass that i listed, which I then checked the Moog catalog to get the differences. The catalog shows the spring rate for the 5606 as 421 for the spring rate and the load as 1530. So it is a little less in spring rate as the 5608 which is 424, but has less load load rate then the others 5602, 5604 and 5608. So the 5602 is a 'softer' spring but can hold more 'weight' when compressed for example. Would love to know the actual specs of the stock spring and wondering if they varied much with the A bodys. Like maybe Pontiac got the higher spring rate and Olds got a softer rate unless it had HD/F51 suspension.

I've used the MOOG #5606 for many years in my wagon. It did kinda raise the front of the car a bit. After years of settling, it looked better. When I first installed them, I was using a 70 series tire. These springs afforded more tire to fender clearance.
Why not consider one of the various S-10 spring combinations. 5658 or 5660.

Not sure which spring is for the Diesel car...but dont use it unless you have a big block!...way too stiff and tall. I will be switching these out for some aftermarket lowering springs....in the spring...
