I've been doing some reading on TH transmissions in G-body vehicles, and know some were equipped with the TH200 while others had the TH2004r. My understanding is that the TH200's were NOT equipped with OD. Is this correct? I have an 88 Cutlass V-8, with an OD transmission, and am trying to figure out if it has the TH200 or TH2004r.

Avoid the 200 like the plague... The later th2004r's were rather robust transmissions and they can handle a decently healthy amount of power before grenading.

One of the RPO codes is MW9, which I just learned might stand for - TRANSMISSION AUTO 4 SPD, THM 200, CONV CLUTCH. Would this be the same as the TH2004r?

Not to hack the thread, but everyone really bashes these transmissions, and while they won't hold up to a lot of power, and probably are sh*t transmissions mine has been behind my V6 for 94,000 miles and probably only been serviced once and it still works without issue.

I have found in my area people are looking for 200's for cores to use for drag racing because their light weight, putting billet parts in them to make them survive, sounds pricey to me
