Can someone provide me a picture of the fan shroud for a v8 260 engine? The 1978 Olds Chassis Service Manual, page 6B-10 shows for VIN F, no shroud. I have a small upper shroud and I am certain it is not original. The radiator was replaced by the previous owner and the shroud is sort of an extension of the upper support. On that same page in the manual, it shows a different upper shroud, no lower shroud for the VIN A (v6) and VIN H, L, U motors.

Once I get an idea what shroud should be in place I can start my search for one.

Thanks,

Dave

Yes, if you look in the parts section, I have an ad for cutlass top plates and V-8 shrouds that shows pictures although they are upside down! :wtf: timo

Here is what I have, notice the cover is missing the emission label, and this shroud is only an upper. In the Olds book it lists no Cutlass in 78 with a lower. Not sure where this shroud came from. Can someone confirm if this is not right and what I should have? This car had an accident by the previous owner and they replaced the radiator about 15 to 20 years ago.

I have see that same set up on the 73-77 olds cutlass. First time seeing it on a 78-82 A body.

It is not what my car had, it had a standard full v-8 shroud. The picture is not a very good one but it kind of shows it

That is indeed a stock shroud, if you can call it that.
I parted out a '78 non-a/c Cutlass with a 260 that had that same little upper piece only.
I have a '78 crash book and it lists three different shrouds, including that one...

Perfect Blake. Thanks. The book I have does not show that for some reason. What book are you referring to as the" '78 crash book"?

Thanks again. I won't bother looking for a full shroud since it was not built with one.

My old 78 Cutlass Supreme came with a 260 and had the full 2 pc V8 shroud. I've never seen a small shroud like that on a g body but the top plates do have the three holes for mounting it.
