OK so I was board and decided to play around with paint which I had no clue how to use so learned as I went. Since the 17" Billet Specialty Street Lite is a wheel I'm considering for my car, I wanted to see what it would look like when given the 442 treatment. Note the color is all wrong because I couldn't find a suitable match;

Looks awesome. I like the gold ring, nice touch.

There is a lot of open space in there. Are you going to have big brakes to fill it up?

No plan for big brakes. Big open spaces is unfortunately a common theme with bigger aftermarket wheels. I'm familiar with that 83 H/O. It's Luke's car. Here's a profile view of his car with those wheels ( I hope you don't mind me posting your pic Luke );

For less "open space" I'd be looking at the American Racing Hopster wheels.

They have wider spoke that will allow more paint to be seen as well.

I've considered Hopsters but I just don't really love em. I don't hate them by any means but they just don't wow me. I think it's the holes are too round or something. Now the Street Lite's don't really wow me either but I do like them better than the Hopsters. I'm still exploring my wheel options though. With all the different wheels out there you'd think you could easily find one you'd really like but there's always something you don't like about a certain wheel. The original SSIII's are the only wheel I truely love and am trying to find another wheel out there that can at least capture some of the qualities of em.

I have strongly considered the Weld RT-S wheels too. I think they look kick-*ss but not sure they have the 'classiness' I'm looking for.

I'll throw some other 17" wheels out there that you might have already looked at.
I'm guessing the only thing that will "wow" you is a 17" aluminum version of the SSIII's
I know it's tough replacing wheels when you want a certain look, then of coarse correct size, availability and cost come into play also.
I also considered the Weld RTS and Billet Specialties Street Lites for my Monte when I was looking and after seeing the Welds on a car (didn't care for them) I think the B.S. wheel would look better.
The first 3 are Centerlines and the last one is the new Weld S75B

IMO I like the Weld RT-S with the gold accent, too bad there's no where to put gold on the spokes. Or the Weld S75B wheel in the post above has a little more class to it.

Paint the entire triangle gold and add the gold pinstripe on the second wheel and that would look good and a lot like the SSiii.
