Can't find my previous thread, if I even had one...
Picked this up in Boston back in 2010.
Car is from Louisiana and has T-tops, power locks, power windows, power seat and interior light package.
No rear defog, lighted visor, remote mirror, trunk kit, tow package or posi.
Car has an odd history, interior had mice, parts from an '87 442 were installed, stripes are missing, never reinstalled after a previous collision back in the 80's or 90's.
Trans was swapped for a rebuilt unit.

Goal is a full frame on restoration (frame off in the future), the interior is going to be overhauled first.

I gutted the interior, found various bits of acorns and pine needles...
Discovered more the evidence of the wreck, which I suspected by the missing stripes, new fenders and lack of air dam but the extent is much greater...
The inner quarter by the shoulder belt belt box had a GM part tag on it along with the passengers side door, the drivers door has a hole for the lower wide stainless molding too.
Found a few dents on the drivers side frame and the rear quarter is a little misaligned at the bottom.
I will address these when I do a frame off in the future but for now I plan on driving this car, I'm not about impressing an OCA judge or whatever...

Installed ACC carpet, the heel pad is wrong color and design and is not mass backed.
The carpet came with the car, I plan on buying the correct mass backed carpet and graft in the correct heel pad from an original piece I have in the future.

I finished off the interior with stuff from a garaged kept '84 Calais that was out of Rockford.
The sand gray interior was actually in very nice shape and not faded to white and chalked from UV exposure as most light colors attract UV and are prone to chalking.
I also installed NOS dash trim, radio, NOS Lightning Rods setup (brackets, shifter, cable, top plate, brushes, screws etc.) and a pair of NOS seat belts.
I have NOS headliner and seat/door panel material that will be part of a future project along with an NOS dash and nicer steering wheel and column.
My goal right now is to get it all back together to where I can enjoy it and then tackle the full concourse interior restoration after I get the car repainted.

The grim discovery of the numbers matching trans being gone:
IMG_1161.jpg

The previous owner said it was all there, numbers matching, and I trusted him since he was a significant member of the Olds community but when I got it home I made the discovery.
No biggie, I found the correct OZ transmission with a build date of 045 which is very close to my build date of 033 but what can you do... I was built by Dave Husek of TurboBuickPerformance.com
He did a nice job, shifts firmly and he upgraded the internals with '84 OZ components and added a Monte SS CZF governor and gave me the original as well.
I have since found another '83 OZ trans with a closer date code that I may rebuild in the future but for now this will do.

This weekend I put the correct shoes on.
Some original Eagle GT's that aren't dry rotted and a set of mint original '83 H/O rims with the factory clear coat still intact and topped them off with NOS lug nuts and center caps.

The car has literally sat for 4 years, I've probably put 50 miles on it since 2010.
The H/O Nats have motivated me.

Just finished putting on the stripes tonight.
Need to let them dry before peeling off the backing.
I thought I positioned the trunk decal wrong, needs to be a little more to the right lining the notch with the right trunk edge but after seeing some photos of low mile cars they were positioned in both positions.

The upper gray stripe seems to be thicker in comparison to Lukes car:
