307 belt diagram

Assuming this is on a 307 Y engine you're going to have belt squealing issues now that you've removed the A/C compressor.

On the 'Y' engine there is only one belt that routes around the P/S pump. The alternator belt runs off the water pump pulley only.

If you want to run without the A/C you need to switch to a Vin 9 307 pulley setup or earlier 350/403 pulley setup as these all used a 2 groove power steering pump pulley setup.
