1986 Cutlass Salon - Transmission options

I found an 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass brochure that stated the Salon came with an overdrive automatics transmission and a 3.73:1 axle. Besides someone changing the original transmission have anyone every heard that it did not come with an overdrive transmission?

The 3 speed trans' obviously are not overdrive. The 2004r came with overdrive by that year.

Only the 442 had the 3.73 rear.
The base trans was a 3-speed (th-350)... The 200-4R (overdrive) was optional.

My 85 Salon came with a TH200

You must have misread that brochure because only the 442's and HO's had 3.73 gears.

The 350 transmission was not the standard 3 speed transmission. It was the lame-*ss 200.

Yep, I missed read it !!!!

The brochure reads:

Cutlass 442 offers all of the Salon's features plus .......

Overdrive automatic transmission and a 3.71:1 axle !!!!!
