so this my story of my 85 monte, it first entered the family on 2004 -2005 it had a straight body excellent shape, a older woman owned the car and kept it in her garage since 1986 she said it was her first car, she went on telling me about how she was very attached to it because her father gave it to her and as you may know she was very old hence her father passed away. My brother was going to be the second owner of the car he paid $2,000 cash it only had 25k miles. On mid 2006 to 2007 he wrecked on newyears night heading to walmart to buy some grapes (tradition to eat under the table) he wrecked into a 2006 mustang GT, the damage was minimal broken heaer pannel in the center and small dent on hood. After the wreck he parked the car in a barn where my dad worked just because of the way it was wrecked, my dad got fired and the car needed to come home so they haulded it to our house where it sat for 3 years, he than moved to georgia and was asking me to sell it for him i put a craigslist add 1,200 O.B.O i only had one person come by and asked if it ran said yes just needed small body work (16 at the time) guy said i was aking to much so he left. My brother arrived a year later and gave me the title and said here you can have the POS i jumped up and down with joy i tried starting it but would not turn my dad had over filled the engine with oil hahaha so i drined alot of it made it turn on drove it but kept blowing the transmissions out 200 metric i than bought another monte with the intent to fix mine for 300 from mcloud, ok turn out it was a stolen one cops had pulled me over showed the bill of sell and said okay thanks and i still hauled the car i than put the better parts on mine had 2 white fenders, front white headers panel ,and white hood and transmission, also a 200 metric which thanks to gbody forums i found out it was a pos transmission, it was parked than and kept in a carport for 3months till i bought a 350 from a buddie for 1,000 i slaped it in and blew a head gasket, i moved to tulsa after that mishap for a better job and kept it in a old car assembly line wharehouse.
