Hello! I am new to the forum. My name is Barbara.
I just bought a 1984 Monte Carlo and the previous owner ripped out the entire dash to do full digital dash but did not even start and I have no dash. I have some trim but no actual dash.
A friend of mine has a 1972 Chevelle. Could the dash from that car possibly fit in my car well enough to provide me with a dash?? I am going to be drag racing this car but would like to have some sort of padded dash as it will be street legal for about a year until I can afford the truck and trailer to haul it.
Any help would be most appreciated.
I attached a pic of the dash as it is right now.

The 72 dash wont be a direct fit but could be modified to fit Im sure. I have a damaged dash out of a Malibu that would be a direct fit that I would sell cheap, shipping may be expensive depending where you live.

I would expect to have to modify. As long as I can get it in there and get it screwed down to some metal, I would be fine with that.
I am in Indiana and shipping is outrageous. I appreciate the offer. I WILL keep you in mind if things don't work out with the Chevelle dash or the local junkyard.
Thanks for responding

I personally would search for a Monte. Malibu or even a Grand Prix Gbody dash since they will all fit well, I would have to think the 72' dash is probably wider and that would probably be just the beginning of your fitment issues.
Just because it is going to be a drag car doesn't mean it can't have a good looking/ fitting dash.

Guess I should stop being in a hurry and make it good looking on the inside as well as more functional. Just trying not to spend much money as it is getting low...lol
Thank you for your response.

Im sure there are others in your area, if you can find somebody in circle track you can get parts dirt cheep.
Thanks. Forgot all about the circle track drivers...they usually take the dash out and do custom aluminum. Guess I need to make a few calls!!
