Greetings everyone! I am just joining the Gbody family with my 84' Monte Carlo SS (see pictures below). I have been trying to figure out how to decode the vin number 1Z37-LES-111812 and the engine code is ES-111812. I know my car came with the 350ci, 4 barrel qjet carb that is inside of it but I can't figure out the engine specs. I also know that 1Z37 corresponds to 75 and newer corvettes. Can anyone help me out?!?

http://www.montecarloss.com/VIN.html ... looking at that chart and your VIN, I can see why your looking for help. You able to match that "serial" on the invoice to the VIN on the dash?? According to that chart they where all 305's none where 350's.

beinvinidos khw1990! i also have a 84 mcSS,and a 86 elco that were made in the fatherLAnd(mexico)! both of them have "hencho en mexico" gm plant(made in mexico)decals on the inner quarter windows 8) both had 305's,the SS had a 305 ho/2004r,and the elco had a 305/th200(worst low geared transmission ive EVER owned! i couldnt even give it away!)you may want to look into the vin decoding over on mcSS,they have a great data base! although my SS came with the gp dash, and gauges/interior ,ive since sold/swapped the gp interior(what came in these MC'S from mexico)for the more common/more pleasant on the eyes(my taste)regular monte/elco/malibu dash/interior.

Thanks for the site reference guys but those are only useful for US Monte Carlos. The 1Z37 corresponds to a corvette/coupe but the engine doesn't correspond to anything :/
