I got an 85 cutlass salon with a factory floor shifter and console. I'm switch to a chevy 350/350 combo. What do I have to do to get the factory floor shift to operate correctly with the th350 transmission? Does anybody have a part number to the correct cable and how it should be correctly installed? Thanx

If it has the 200 metric three speed, no mods at all.

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the car originally had a 200r4 overdrive transmission. And my console gear shift indicator says P,R,N,D,2,1. I hope this will help. How is the cable supposed to be routed?

to do the th350 swap yuoll need a 350 type shifter. you can get aftermarket ones thatll fit under the stock console. and you can get a sweet handel too!

I don't know how interchangability is far as Cutlass consoles, but you may be able to put a stock 3-speed shifter from an earlier year in... the detents for the 2004R and TH350 will likely not match up if it had a PRND21 setup.

I figured if I brought a shifter cable for an earlier year cutlass with a th350 and floor shifter that It would work since I have the right shifter cable.

I suppose you could use the stock on with th350 linkage, just it wont shift all the way back to first,so the sequence for shifting from the 2004r to th350 is that 1st gear on the indicator is nothing,2nd is first, drive is 3rd and overdrive is 3rd.
