Has anyone ever done a hardtop to t-top conversion on this style car? if so. Will a slightly newer style g-body work? or what year and model would have the same form fitment to section out the t top? I searched and found this site. says it will have a whole conversion but will be super costly I bet. my car is rust free and done all the hard work on it already and just about time for paint but would like to do this first.

Easiest way would be to find another Monte with T tops to build or swap the roof over. I believe the roof for all 78-88 Montes are the same.

78-80 are specific,as 81-88 are specific.in your case you would need a t-roof from a 78-80 gbody.

I was thinking that the roof is specific for 78-80, 80-88...however when I found the link on my original post on this thread, got me thinking otherwise since it says theyre making t-top conversions for 78-88. than that opens more doors (or windows) to chop a top of a junker.
