Anybody ever attempt or think about putting a supercharged 3.8 out of a Grand Prix into an 86 Regal? Lots of them out there. Doner cars are cheap. Don't know about transmission and motor mounts?

I have a supercharged 3800 in my 4th gen firebird.

You need a F body for the oil pan, pickup, oil filter housing, AC pump, PS pump, trans, harness, other stuff too. You need a blown up 4th gen or full takeout drivetrain and a semi complete l67 out of a GTP/regal GS. Don't go for a bonneville SSEI or other large chassis car, they are different on the accessories and stuff and take GP/Regal parts.

They are fun combos. I get 26mpg or so and it runs mid 12's.

Thought about it but required to much work. This is a pic of a 3.8 with a gen 5 blower. In a regal 98 i belive.

Only hard parts would be wiring. And you can use the camaro short block with l67 top end. I'd run the complete camaro l36 and go CSC tho

I have every thing to make this happen ecept the blower and supercharged heads. If you go turbo you can make a lot more horsepower. I would entertain offer if you are interested in parts.

It was done a while back on an 80s cutlass. The guy had it documented on a website.....but the website is no longer active.

I think a better option would be to use the 3800 Fbody drivetrain with a turbo - that would be simpler with more potential.

Back in 98 when I did the Hot Rod Power Tour.

My friend Craig and I put this together with a 98 Pontiac GTP 3800 supercharged that got hit hard in the rear.

GM was also there with a 98 Monte Carlo with manufacturer plates on it with the same setup in it.

The best thing about it was they came over to us and complemented us.

The perfect photo op!!!

There is several Grand Nationals running around with turbo 3800 series 2 engines in them. After I get my feet wet with this turbo idea and I blow my 3.8 to sh*t. I am going this route, unless someone comes along and wants to buy all my 3800 crap.
