Thanks Mitch,

So if I call SEM and tell them I want a gallon of what they made for Mitch, they'll know what I'm talking about? Just kidding, I'm curious of the number and who you talked to though so I can skip some of the dirt you've already plowed. Was also not aware the Bulldog came in quarts/gallons? Do you have a part number? Sure will beat the pants off of rattle can application.

Just so I'm kinda clear on this, the photos of your interior parts are the SEM Presidio Grey? I like that it's light but not too light and can be combined with a bunch of material colors for seat reupholster.

I really want to get going on my rag but I have too many swords in the air. Will be retiring the end of July so my free time will increase as a result. Just about finished with the interior on my big truck, but it's really hot here now. There's an excessive heat warning today 114 with 5% humidity, and I see 116-118 on Tuesday. I'm not sure I can drink enough.

Thanks Mitch...

Stay Thirsty my Friends. ...

Scott,
I spoke to Ann Zoelle at SEM. She does the color matching and shes a real sweetheart to deal with. After the poor job the local body shop supply did trying to mix the first color I lost faith in their ability. I told Ann I needed a gallon of Presidio Grey they would be an EXACT match to their aerosol. She took an aerosol can, did a spray out, matched the spray out, scanned that and came up with the exact color. No charge. The gallon of Color Coat was about $20 more than what I usually pay since I get a decent discount but the big thing was shipping. The gallon was around $310 because its shipped as hazmat.
I wanted to be sure that if I ever needed to touch something up I could go get a can off the shelf and it would match.
Bulldog comes in gallons. Not sure about quarts. I found it lays out much better out of a gun. Better atomization. I used it in an aerosol can on the console for my 81 and it looked like crap. Little dots all over.

Why dont you pick up a can of the Presidio and try it before you get a gallon. This way you'll see how the color is in person. The color might be a shade different in real life.
I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need any more info. I'll be glad to help !
Mich

Keep up the great work. I took the car cover off my coupe today to replace it with a new one and despaired whether it will ever be repainted. So many other tasks and projects ahead of it in priority.

Scott,

I think the mix formula for my color might be on file at SEM. If you call Ann and give her my name as a reference you might be able to get it. Im sending you my name in a PM. Let me know how you make out.

Made a little progress. Most of the serpentine stuff is now on the motor. I still have a few more details to take care of like the fuel line at the pump and I need to order a bolt from GM because I didnt want to use a stud in a through hole. LOL

I finally have the rear interior panels back in the car AGAIN. I dont think theyre coming back out. (I hope) It took a little while to figure out a solution to the rear glass fiasco. Turns out it was a fairly easy fix after I saw how another car looked without the glass installed. Jim and Jack, I'll fill you in.

I spent a little while redoing some of the seam sealer on the front part of the floor today. Im probably going to tackle the dash this coming weekend.
I cant finish the rest of the pillar trim until I get the retractors back from seatbeltplanet. They should be here by the beginning of next week.

I ordered the GM cloth from SMS Fabrics. They said theyre running behind by two weeks as far shipping. I have no idea when that will get here. Its okay though. Ive got plenty to keep me busy.
Is that a Caprice fan blade for the reverse rotation water pump?

Nope. I wanted to use a clutch fan on the wagon but I couldnt figure out which one to buy. Called Hayden and they wouldnt give me any info due to the fact it wasnt an original application for the car. I guess they have to cover their butts legally. So, I bought a Derale from Summit. Im sure its going to be noisy but at least the motor will run cool. Its good to 8K RPM. LOL

I bought a blade off of like a 90 or 91 Caprice since it was reverse rotation and is said to fit in the G Body shrouds. I found an NOS Delco clutch on Ebay. As long as the blade is straight I should be ok.

I had some concern about using the right clutch since they make different types and after getting blown off from Hayden I figured this would be the easier way of doing it.

Finally got some stuff done on the wagon today. Put the trim for the bottom of the windshield on and buttoned up the AC box. I had to do a quick yard run yesterday because I couldnt find some of the hardware for the trim.
Tomorrow Im going to prep and paint the parts for the wipers. Maybe by the end of the day I'll even have those back in. Kinda sucks having to do this all over again but I guess it gives me something to do. LOL
