Famous last words !! LOL
When I started working on these cars I still had a full head of hair ! Now.... not so much ! LOL
I here that I assembled my 78 Cutlass last weekend for a very anticlimactic result no fire in the holes

Got a little more finished today. These little details take so much time. Glad I repainted the wiper motor last week. It was really humid here the past couple of days. I had to run to the local junkyard to get another plastic cover for the motor and I found one in pretty decent shape. Today I went back to get a bunch of screws and grabbed a couple of clean squirters.

This was a lesson learned. Never cover a car up with a blue tarp. I did it because of my knee surgery and paid the price. A lot of the work detailing the frame was wasted. I had to repaint the AC box. The new KYB shocks (that I repainted grey) were rusty and for some reason they lost their charge Maybe due to the car being on jackstands. Of course I cant find the receipt. LOL The rotors were so rusty it looked like they needed to be cut. I was so pissed I went out and bought new again.
Tons of dust from the body shop, caked up compound and a decent amount of overspray. I have the right side cleaned up pretty well. New grease fittings for the whole front end. I was also surprised to see the sway bar link bushings all cracked. Not sure where I bought them but I replaced them with Moog.
Last night I tried to install the two jounce bars that were on the car when I bought it only to find out they were both exactly the same. I was lucky to get a replacement bar from a guy I know. Just have to sandblast and paint it.
I also have a post about the radio antenna. Another little glitch.

Ah, the joys of playing with old cars !! LMAO

Those tarps are totally useless. When I had my wagon stored outdoors for awhile, the tarp did absolutely nothing to keep the rain water out.
Besides, they have a very short shelf life.
