When we found our most recent shop car, it had a worn out dark and dingy claret maroon interior. Little projects tend to snowball and now our "test car" is suddenly undergoing a complete transformation with as many of our parts as possible. Given our big plans, we have decided to name this project #DixieSSRevival. Check back often to watch our progress and feel free to post any of your questions.

That things wasted. You should give it to me. On a serious note, it looks like a fantastic candidate and T tops too  If your looking to get new paint, I started my own shop here at the house. Unless you do it yourself

Not dark and dingy just character ;) Looks to be more complete then most. No missing armrests, handles or whatever the hell you call those things that hold the seatbelts attached to the headrest.

Lemme guess... it "needs" a dash? ;)

The car actually didn't need a dash, but it seemed like a good opportunity to show how our parts fit and look.

Being car guys, we are all too familiar with the snowball effect.

As everyone knows, the first step is removing the old pieces and preparing for the new interior. Within a couple of hours, we had the old interior out. Like any 31 year old car, we expected some rust. Luckily, the car has lived a pretty good life and the rust was easily repaired with a couple of very small patches to fix some pin holes.

Once the patches were made, the floor came back to life with a good wire brushing, cleaning, and two coats of SEM's Rust Trap.

This was the first time we've used Rust Trap and we were pretty happy with the results. It's a decent alternative to POR-15, which is also a great product, but a little more expensive.
