If you put pen to paper your going to find your going to have a chunk of change and countless hours in this car. I would defiantly consider looking for another body - donor car. I got my floor pan from www.gbodyparts.com. I bought the one piece 442 pan wth all the brackets. It fit well with a little triming. Had to take a door off to get it in. I have t-tops also. Nice quality pan.

What do you mean by sail panels. I'm used to working and building trucks big trucks. So this is my first car. Where can I find this front end part? What did you use to cut everything out with

There is several ways to remove the rust, chemicals or? But l find that die-grinder with a rust removal 3" disk works well, it's a hard fibre that won't heat up the metal but removes rust really nice. Buy it at Autobody paint supply store.
As for frontend, l'd have to look it up but not sure it won't do you any good, There shop is in Belleville, Ontario, Canada and they ship out of Toronto. I would assume if we make one up here there has to be afew in the States.

Thanks for the info I will check around on the front end mine isn't to bad. Worst parts are the front and rear fenders. Plus Tha sail panels. All of the interior of the car has to be done

Personally, I would shop around for a complete shell if you are not a highly skilled sheet metal fabricator/ body man. From what I can see that girl has a terminal case of tinworm. G-bodies are still common enough where you should be able to find a complete roller for substantially less than the cost of going through that shell. We (father and I) did it with a 72 GS, and saved tonns. I'm doing it now with another G body. Just my .02.

I'm going up to southern Maine on business in a few weeks. Good thing my wife is going with me so I won't make any bad decisions.

I understand the sentimental attachment you have for the car, so simple fix it.

You can get fiberglass or steel front fenders. The floor aren't really that bad so you can patch or buy the 1/4 floors. Interior can be pick up used in the wanted section on here, or watch for guys posting for sale.

If you don't have a welder or a friend that welds, pick up a gasless Mig welder there cheap and either take a course, watch videos an practice before you start.

I had a 86 olds Cutlass Brougham in 86 well short story it died. But l bought a 86 again 2 years ago, replaced floors, drivers side of trunk along with inner wheel well , fenders, doors, engine(built 468), transmission(built 4l60e), rearend(8.8) and removed vinyl roof an fixed rust, body work and paint and pretty much broke even with the appraisal value.

Point is it can be done and done within reason if your willing to be patient, shop and learn.

Thank you bob64. I will take all info I can get from you guys. I really want this car fixed and running again. Time isn't a thing to me. I've got time and money plus the know how to door all the work it needs to be done
