I went with a 2001 Ford Explorer 8.8, disc brakes, 3.25" tubes, 31 spline shafts, 4.10 locker, I paid $125 for it from a yard in KC, mounting plate width is 59.5", for what I was doing it fit, was cheap and can handle way more HP than most people would ever throw at it.. You can pick them up with 3.73 locker also if needed..

I don't blame anyone wanting to put a ford 9" under their car, they are rock solid, I actually was so close to buying that ford 9" from that seller 4 years ago, the UPS driver was waiting for me to hit the (BUY IT NOW) button, I just couldn't eat that bullet and decided to go a different route, but like you said "2K and done"

Do you have a write up on the swap? I put one with 4.10s and an LSD in the rear of my Jeep YJ. All that entailed was basically moving the spring pads out about an inch. It looks like there'd be a lot more involved with putting one under the Gbody. It's an awesome axle and holds up to tons of abuse off-road under a Jeep anyway.

Are there weld on Tabs and coil buckets or a kit to make the swap? and retain stock suspension geometry? All I've seen is mention that Bulldawg Musclecars may offer one for the Gbody in the future but only have the Abody on their site.
