Think you could fit this in a G-Body?

Like whoever it was said, anything can fit in anything, but what is the point? This lump, in either the 12-cyl or the 6-cyl configuration, though they are significant engineering accomplishments, are low-RPM beasts, which have limited appeal in this forum. How would they compare against diesels for tow vehicles? I can't think of any other applications that would make sense, and g-bodies aren't famous for being first choices for tow vehicles.

Cheers - Gary

Here's what Pat McNeal did with one of those 702ci Twin-Six engines about 8 or 9 years ago. The cab is a1942 GMC COE. He used a modified Toronado transaxle behind the cab with the engine facing backward and a drive shaft turning a quick-change rear:

Pat is a friend of my boss, Jim. That is one cool ride.

I live in Baltimore city just inside the line on the Northeast side. The city/ county line is literally at the bottom of my street. The wife wants to move though. We need more property and I need a bigger garage.

I think a dual quad setup would wake this thing right up.

Ran across this short YouTube vid of a nicely done '84 GMC pickup with one of the V-12s at the 2015 Car Craft Summer Nationals - there's a short clip at the end of the vid showing it driving.

Z48LT1: There's a company called ThunderV12 that gets these Twin Six engines producing 425 HP at 4,200 rpm and moves the torque band into the 2K to 3K range - all on 87 octane. But it costs mega $. IIRC, that's the route Mr. McNeal took with his.

Wagonman100 and Fleming442: I'm in Pasadena about halfway between Baltimore and Annapolis. Either of you ever get to the Lost in the 50's Cruises on Saturday night at Marley Station Mall? If so, drop me a PM next time you head that way and we can try to meet up. I won't be there tonight, though - Elsie's got a busted flex plate. New one goes in on Monday.

Haven't been to that in years, but could probably cruise down one weekend- shoot me PM when you're going. I was just in Ferndale this afternoon...
