Would any one know what diameter the stock radiator fan is on the 79 Grand Prix with a V-8

The fan shroud is about 20 1/2 inches, about 3/4 inch clearance, which would make the fan about 19 inches. That was the best I could get with it in the car yet.

My GP has a flex fan right now. I thought it would be a simple matter to change it back to a fan clutch and fan blade.
Purchasing the fan clutch is the easy part every auto parts store has them. The fan blade turned out to be a different matter. Only two companies I saw Hayden and Derale had fan blades available for the GP.
The Derale 19” fan blade actually 19.5”. I think that could be a problem. Still working on getting the specs for the Hayden fan blade. I may have to go with the 18” fan blade

Have you checked with any pick n pulls to see if they have any. I would think a fan out of just about any gbody would work.

Pick n pulls are far and few between in northern NJ. Especially for older vehicles. I installed an 18” fan and a standard duty fan clutch yesterday.
So far every thing is good. Not running hot or over heating. It’s amazing how much quieter the engine is with out the flex fan.
