Riddick, BBC would be my preference, but a 6.0 LS would be lighter and handle better?

Why weld the frame shut if doing an LS swap? Just curious, would I not want that no matter what?

The car I looked at locally has holes all along the rear frame rails, I should have taken a picture. That can be fixed? I know floor pans are no biggie, and one quarter is f'd which is no biggie as well. It has a built 400 SBC which is cool just because they almost don't exist anymore

I am liking the 87 grille the best..

Does the G body community get up in arms when someone makes something it isn't? I would never badge it that way, but I love the rear spoiler, GNX wheel flares and the front air dam, like alot...

Its one of the most faked with base model cars in history lol dont worry what "the community" thinks do what floats your boat. if you go standard and the car you end up getting had a column shifter get an iddit steering column, they're rlly cool and clean I dont like the factory columns personally

Thank you. SPeaking of manual, the clutch pedals for G bodies are all z bar type? I have no clue how that would work.. I would be using my TKO 600 (ford) with a quicktime scattershield for whatever engine I end up choosing, I think they make all three (LS, BBC, SBC)

ya no matter what. its the chassis biggest weak point, it has open channels in the center section and if youre adding a juiced up ls it has the potential to warp. I say potential because most guys dont bother but if you want your car to last forever, do it. (I did) Handling will be up to your suspension more than weight tbh its not an f1 car. personally i went bb to stay era correct and its a lot easier than all the efi bs with an ls. i have mad love for LS and LS swaps tho dont get me wrong

ya QT is great if you can think of the engine/trans combo they got it. You got to find manual from factory parts (pretty rare) if you wanna use fork and linkage which is a pain. Just convert to hydraulic man saves time and feels way better and is more bulletproof. Tilton makes the best hyd TOB for the price for your tko just like my 56 mag. they also have a universal master cylinder to go with it. Its really not that expensive the TOB and universal master was like $600. that way you dont really need to worry about the pedal you can use some universal pedal

I cannot get my head around how the pedal to master clutch cylinder would work as far as the pedal assembly? I am only familiar with cable to pedal, cable to fork mustang setups.

Theres youtube for that my dude. Basically you can run a hydraulic line any way you want from the master that sits right on the opposite side of the firewall behind your clutch pedal (making it a simple push design) to the throw out bearing no need finding exact factory forks and cables. makes it ezpz

Found a few prospects, 1986 Regal that even has good rear frame rails so that's a plus. 8 hour drive but worth it for the right car i guess. There is an 85 t type that has t tops (good/bad?), the nice interior, rear spoiler and front air dam which would save time and money but loos like it needs alot of help, that one is further but thats part of the fun i guess.

No idea what engine yet, the only guarantee is that it will have 2 extra cylinders than a GN

The '85 T-type would have a 3.42 8.5" rear axle if its a real T-type and the axle is original. He'd have to pay you to take the 85 Turbo motor, however. If there is a way to leave it with the seller, do it.

'85 & earlier ar hot air turbos, '86 & '87 have the intercoolers. More cold air is the better choice in thr turbo world.
