Picked this up a while back from an older gentleman who owned it since the early nineties. Got it back on the road and it runs and drives great. The 3.8 buick turbo motor is pretty doggy off the line but not too bad once the thing is rolling. Overall really nice shape. Any ideas on what it's worth? I bought it as a project to get back on the road and sell to fund my Malibu project so it needs to go. I just have no idea what it should be worth. It's kind of a unicorn but I don't want to be trying to sell it forever. Looking for ideas on value.

Probably not worth a lot, but that is a rare bird! Worth more than my 80 Turbo. I would say some were between 4000-10000.

Yeah, I'm thinking somewhere in there. I just want to find someone who will love it for what it is and not pull the 3.8 Turbo motor.

Mike - first of all thats a beautiful car and I hope you can get some good $$$ for it. If you look on NADA values it goes for $4,400 avg retail to $7,500 high retail. That being said I have an 84 Mustang GT Turbo convertible 5 speed I've been tring to sell, it lists at 7,200 avg retail and 12,600 high retail - 731 build and mine is one of one on color. No lookers @$5000.00. I quess what I'm tring to say is don't get your hopes up to high but it never hurts to ask. You might fine that person that has to have it. I sold a nice low mi 81 last year and only got $3000.00. Good luck!!

FWIW I'd think your best bet to both sell quick and get top dollar is one of the auction houses - mecum/barrett.

There was a couple white ones locally here in Georgia that sold this year - one non- runner in a 4/5 condition advertised @1500, one a solid high 3 condition for 3800. Your car looks to be a high 3 that could become a low-mid 2 with some frame/undercarriage paint and detailing.

Tough car to sell high on because there isn't much performance wise to do and aftermarket support dried up by the late 80s early 90s...

I'd probably aim high at 6500 and take the first bite at 4500 or above, but your local gbody priced are probably going to set your market

That's about what I was thinking. I was figuring I'd start at $6500 but you can buy some pretty nice Monte SS's for that and I think they are much more desireable even though less rare. I don't want to store the car this winter so I might start at 5500.

Has anyone sold anything on Ebay lately? That might be a good place to see what it's worth. I used to sell on there in the 2000's but haven't sold much on Ebay since craigslist came around 10 years ago.

Read the terms and conditions closely on ebay, they aren't what they used to be.

These days the fees are due no matter what - you have a dreamer bid on the car who changes their mind or can't pay then you're stuck out the cash.

Hemmings motor news, auto trader classics, bring a trailer, collector car trader, etc may be other things to look at.
