Get a WB02 and tune your idle circuit to ~13.5 to 14:1. After that you can start tuning your cruise and WOT... and transitional points. It is either in tune or it isn't, no sense chasing unknowns.

I was able to get back to the track yesterday. Unfortunately tons of racers and poor track organization meant I was only able to get one pass in, but hey thats alright. I'm that much closer to the 12 second time slip I want pretty badly. I ran out of brake vacuum from taking so long to stage, so I was only able to stall the car to ~1900rpm. The shift flare caused a quick bump on the 6300 rpm rev limit on the 1-2 shift. Even with those mistakes I was still able to click off a 13.06.

4 Wide drag racing was a little weird, but once you're staged it doesn't really feel any different. I just tried to focus on what I needed to do.

Racetrack on the weekends, hauling scrap metal on the weekday. Survey says....3,640lbs with me in it, and 1/4 tank of fuel. This reconfirms that sunroof cars are heavy!

My dad and I went to Rockingham, NC in pursuit of that 12 second ET slip. I ended up coming home with 5 slips that show this car can run the number!

Earlier in the night we were really struggling with getting the car to hook, the best I could muster was a 1.9 60 foot. I would brake torque the car as high as it would go before it started pushing through the brakes. That was usually around 2500rpm.

We decided to unhook the front sway bar, and that seemed like it helped the car. After a pass or two My 60 foots went from high 1.9's to mid 1.8's. Not the 1.6 I had earlier this year, but hey.

After we unhooked the sway bar, I put the brake pedal through the firewall on launch and ended up running a 13.007 at 104. I decided thats it, the passenger seat is coming out!

The next pass got me the 12 second ET! 12.92 at 104. I guess the passenger seat delete helped?

Since I had the 12 I wanted, I decided to start flashing the converter. I was afraid to do it earlier in the night, because I wasn't sure if the 10 bolt would like it. But it held in like a champ, and the car really seemed to like it. The quickest pass of the night ended up being a 12.78 at 106. I had some super close races with a turbo Dodge truck, lots of fun!

The plan now is to put this car on a mini diet. I still want to keep the car in its current form, and retain what little creature comforts I do have. I think lighter wheels are going to be a huge area I can save quickly. The plan is to go back sometime in October when the air is cool, but track temperature might be good. I should be able to run 12's with the seat in lol.

Nice job!!!

Have you considered some laughing gas - maybe a 100 shot? (picture me saying this under my breath with my head sideways). I'd say you're 150 shot from 10's.

I was reading and thinking... why isn't he flashing the converter and putting that thing in the 12s? Then bam. Done.

Congrats. Who needs an LS-swap, right?

I've been wanting to flash it pretty badly, but I was afraid of what the 10 bolt would have to say about it. After I got that 12 second pass, I was like "I don't care if I send the ring gear through the cover!" lol. Luckily it took it like a champ...this time.

Nice job!!!

I have considered it, I'd like to try it at some point when funds allow. I just have 0 experience with nitrous, so I'd have to do some research.
