Got another question guys. So 350 vortec with 700r4 installed my car does have factory buckets and console. Now the original metric has a bracket on trans for floor shifter cable but of course it wont work on the 700r4. So I need a bracket not sure which one I've seen a few. And also I'm sure I'm going to need a new cable as well which cable would I need and what are you all using thanks for the help and the advice in advanced. Got some more done today not much but I only get a few hours every once and awhile

So I've ran into a problem I got a 700r4 tv cable for a 90s silverado on a 350 engine with a quadrajet and I bought the lil scepter kit for the throttle cable fit fine but when I plug tv cable in it the cable does not reach where it should go is there another braket or do the sell a extension to reach to the carb

Not sure of the bracket/kit you're describing. I've always used a factory bracket to mount the cable near the carb. It sometimes requires some modification, but it's relatively the simple. The biggest issue that you can't, or shouldn't, overlook is to have the correct geometry on your carb.

Perhaps a photo or two.

Anyone use the micro gra ity feed electric fuel pump. Says to mount within 12 inches to tank and as low as possible. Well plan was to mount run house to pump then hose back to metal line. What did you all do and where did you mount it

So next question lol I couldn't get the new 700 to go past reverse so I disconnected the rod and just got cable it is going through gears fine now except it wont go to all the gears that the trans has. Old metric trans PRND21 and new trans is P,R,N,OverDrive,D,and I believe low what ever 700r4 is. But the console wont let it go past drive I will do PRN overdrive and drive. Why is this what do I need to do to fix this and also do I have to have the rod attached to it or not if so it wont go past reverse when attached

You need to either lengthen the backdrive rod to the column or get one from a 4 speed auto car (2004r). Adjust linkage on the N to D stop, not P.
Ok so I'm guessing this must be done in the console. And how is this done sorry I'm just not sure how or have ever done that before. Do they sell the column rod

Nice build so far! I'm doing something similar in an 84 monte carlo ss, did you have any issues with the power steering pump to the power steering gear box? Maybe it's the mounts I used. What mounts did you end up using?

Can't wait to see progress!
