Well, work schedule is pretty spastic right now so home projects get in where they fit in (yeah, Too Short reference). Today I hit a gun show in the morning. Then went over and snagged a load of stuff from my dad's shop. Gun stuff.

Fall set in quick here. It's getting cold at night and they'll be shutting down the irrigation water soon. Most of the feed corn has been harvested and cows are taking care of the stubble.
Odd coincidence that the Russian Thistle turns the same color of deep red (purple) that is on my house. Russian Thistle is just the civilized name for tumbleweed.

I did some catch up clean up down where the old house was. I lost another couple Willow trees. I diced up the half that came down and used the BroHauler as a skidder to get the big branches to the burn pile.

There was a big branch from another huge Willow that I took care of too.

Did some site prep work for the RV pad where the old house used to be.

Pretty good produce showing down there this year. My Asian pears were just barely bigger than golf balls but tasted perfect! And there was a ton of them.

My two Serviceberry trees are loaded. I sent my mom a pie recipe. We'll see if the hint works.

Even managed to get in a little ride on the indian before it got dark. More to come tomorrow.

Spent part of the morning doing tractor work. Most of that was fixing the auger so that I could punch a new hole in the ground for my mailbox. Then we shuttled it over to my dad's shop so it can spend the winter inside a warm, dry shop.
The only reason there is now space for the tractor is because we hauled the '35 over to my house and tucked it in the garage.

Pretty surprised at how much I've been able to stuff in there. Currently has 5 cars, 4 motorcycles, 1 BroHauler, and a bunch of boxes of things waiting to be unpacked and moved in.

A little blast from the past...
My brother sent me this pic of the lowrider he built about 25 years ago. I'm responsible for the Gene Winfield inspired fade paint. I remember the green was one of those short cans of Testor's model paint.

That's one hell of a garage. What are the dimensions?

I vote a series of jacks... take your pick, either jack from the middle, wall in perimeter, add cross brace, repeat,

Or

Jack from perimeter, add support beam down middle, frame edges, repeat.

Growing up on the Texas Gulf Coast, I had a friend whose dad was a CPA for an oil company. They offered him big money to go run an office in the middle of BFE, about 40 miles from where I grew up. He bought 15 acres for $6,000, and a brand new double wide. Due to the hurricanes and potential storm surge, he had it put on piers. He had a crane come and set both sections about 12 feet in the air. Wild.

That little house made me smile. They must have really loved that trailer!
I went to Jr. high with another guy whose family started out living in a single wide mobile home. His dad added a master bedroom and bath on back, then a "sunken" living room in front (it was ground level, but since it was lower than the mobile home, it was "sunken", His last feat was to build a second story on top with a game room. After he was done, you couldn't tell from the outside that there was a mobile home inside. From the inside, you wouldn't notice unless someone pointed it out. If you got under the house/ crawl space, I am sure it was evident. they later sold it and he mover to Austin on Lake Travis and he is a home builder now (!) I always wondered about how the buyer got financing. Surely the bank found out through the inspection about it being built around a mobile home.

30 deep, 36 wide. It's actually the same dimensions as my last shop. I'm working out of town right now but I'll get a pano shot of it at some point. It's pretty Tertrised (verb) in there.

First off, cool thread. I have to wonder if I am the only one who gets your reference to a Clutch song for a thread title (no one else has mentioned it).

I am in sort of a similar situation, I grew up down on the Gulf Coast, in the country on three acres next to a large ranch and halfway between two towns of about 300 people, 15 miles from the nearest hardware and grocery stores and 35 miles from a big town with a Lowes'/ Home Depot/ Target, (Now, not then) etc. , so I am used to a drive to town for supplies and planning my trips accordingly. My dad was a welder who always wanted to run a little grocery store so he and my mom sold their place southwest of Houston (Brazoria) when my brothers were in elem school and I was a baby and bought one, but his vision of being Ike Godsey (hidden age test there) were a little late (1973). He ended up having to go back to welding and my mom ran the store for a few years, but it was his dream and not hers, so they got out of it after 12 years or so. My dad still lives there, but unfortunately my mom passed away 7 years ago. It is four hours from here and we have been trying to get him to move closer to us, as the only other immediate family, my brother lives 4 hours from me to the north, west of Fort Worth. My uncle, his BIL is moving with his lady friend to be nearer her son and grand kids, so other than what friends are still alive, there isn't anyone nearby.

Thanks for wading through it all. Absolutely a Clutch reference. I couldn't afford anything "up North, just past Alaska" so Idaho had to do.
Got the Godsey reference too.
