Longroof79,
install some residual pressure valves in your brake lines and your troubles will be over!
Install a 2# in the front brake line and a 10# in the rear brakes (if using drums) and your pedal travel will be reduced significantly.
These need to be installed as close to your brake's master Cylinder as possible
Take it from me.....I just went thru this on my set up!

Thank you for that information. I don't know how I missed this. So, you've installed these residual pressure valves right at the master cylinder between the lines and the master? Interesting.

Yes indeed, brakes work fantastic
LMK if you’d like a picture
A few pics( and part #'s) would be much appreciated...thank you! ...and thank you for the suggestion.
Would these residual valves emulate using an adjustable proportioning valve? Just curious.

Wilwood 10lb residual pressure valve for rear brakes (installed downstream of the adj. proportioning valve) about 1" below

Wilwood 2lb residual pressure valve for front brake lines (installed downstream of the adj. proportioning valve) about 1" below

I'll post some pics tonight of the residual pressure valves

Removed the factory G body brake proportioning valve
ran 3/16" brake line to transition to 1/4" ? (might be larger than that) rear line that exited from the now removed factory proportioning valve which was located on the underside of frame

Also installed larger 7/8" rear brake cylinders from manual brake S-10 and (4) larger leading brake shoes in the rear

Thanks for sharing the pic and the information..plus what you've done with your brake system... That's a nice clean setup. (y) Well executed.
I like how you plumbed the proportioning valve just below the master cylinder like the earlier A-body cars.
So, the residual valves are installed below the proportioning valve.

Yes , you are correct. I ran some short lengths of 3/16" brake line and coiled them to allow for any movement which could take place, then plumbed in the residual pressure valve . The residual pressure valves are recommended to be installed as close to the master cylinder as possible.
