Hey, what's up guys? So, I just picked up my first ever g-body. I've wanted one my whole life and the conditions were finally right. Picked up a pretty clean 1986 Cutlass, owner said it was originally a V6 but he swapped in the 350. I'll be honest, it's my first time messing with a carberator engine so it'll be a learning experience. I've had a '94 Trans Am, a '00 Crown Vic, and anow '03 Mustang GT. Right now I'm trying to adjust the carb with my dad this week since it seems to be running lean and shuts off when idling in gear. My dad had a '79 Grand Prix LJ when I was a kid with the factory two tone green and white. Well, I'll keep you guys posted and ask questions as they come.

Nice Car!

I'm not a big fan of those flex-fans.

That's an 87'. Great car to start with. Looks rust free

That was my first thought... "Wasn't 86 still the curved grilles not the flat ones?" (Always liked the curved grilles better).

Meh... maybe a 87 front clip. Seen plenty of times the car was listed as a 79 Trans Am with a 77-78 front clip because they looked WAY better.

Welcome to the site. Youtube adjusting a carb.. its not that bad.

Thanks guys. You might be right. Seller posted it as '86 but I'll run the VIN through a decoder. As for the carb, it said Demon on it so I looked up the instructions for it. Seated the idle screws, took them out 2 turns and adjusted from there. They were way off before. One was 4 turns out, the other like 1 and a quarter. She needs some work but pretty clean car to start with at least. I think the interior is all original cause the door panels, seats, and carpet are all blue.
