They kind of remind me of the foam overwraps that I used on my old Porsche with dual Solex carbs. They were made by Filtron. Filtron filters were used also used on race and off road vehicles. Of course, this was before K&N filters became the performance filter of choice.
Knowing Delco, nowadays, they probably got them off a lawn mower. :)

I can't remember the last time I bought a paper filter. Every time I have been involed with a new to us vehicle I get a K&N first chance I have. The last one was an AC Delco for the straight six that was (is?) in my '81 Malibu wagon.

I like the Amsoil ones better, they are a dry element so they clean with low pressure air and a vaccum

That is a lot like the old Accel foam filter that goes over a metal frame. I have one for this GM air cleaner housing.
