Wiring to the heating elements ok?

That I do not know. I never touched anything in the car. Everything is factory sealed and I am not about to start opening panels or interior up now. I don't see why the wiring or window element would just shut down.

I pulled them out of the fuse block and put an OHM meter across the two blade pins.

that doesn't tell you if the circuit breaker trips when power in applied, you should also check to see if there is power to the breaker in the fuse block

Just because the indicator isn't working doesn't mean the switch isn't. You should be checking for voltage, not continuity.

Maybe the switch even though pin out is identical is the wrong one? I put in part# 25517657 and relocated the plastic tabs with epoxy. The proper switch is part# 25515822. But for the life of me can't understand the internals would be any different when this one does light up when lights are ON.

why would there not be any power to the breaker? That would mean something behind the fuse block of wiring burnt out. Nothing every indicated there was any smoke or short or burn....

Why can't I find a FUSE BOX diagram online for an '84 Regal limited? An actual photo maybe. Anyone know? I don't see any fuse labeled "r defog" or something. But all the fuses are good anyway.
