I have the Blue Max wires, but they are very old now, so I can’t attest to the quality now. I always buy the make your own sets since I have the wire holders/separators that go on top of the center bolt valve covers. Plus I bought a set of premodern ones and they misfired right out of the box. I have had trouble with almost anything Accel in the past, but again, I have not bought any of this stuff in almost 20 years.

The AC Delco wire set (part# 9608B or 88862434) look neat and clean, and not comparing side by side seem shorter/more compact than the Accel set.

Might be a nice fit, and are 8MM like they are supposed to be for an Olds. However, they do not have the knobs on the cap boots.

I have had 0 issues with the Accel products, except the wires 20 years ago, which were pure junk. They were being made by Porter Cable, they were very nice and durable. They are now probably now what MSD is using, the same company. I have a 20 year old Accel HEl Supercoil, it has been flawless. Finding the raised boots is tough. Do an ohm check on those AC Delco wires, curious what they test at. I have seen a huge range in resistance in wires, I think only excessive resistance is bad, like 5000+ ohm per foot.

I'm getting a 15.68 reading on the Accel, and 15.95 with the AC Delco with the 20k setting for ohms. This was measuring the longest wire in each set, which was 39.75" in length.

Now if someone can finish the algebra equation...

Has anyone ever used a set of these? Wondering how they would compare to a set of something like the Accel yellow sets with the orange boots?
These are on my car now. The person I bought the car from put them on because the car is blue - my engine is completely stock but I have had no issues.

Was that the wire length with boots or without?
39.75" ÷12= 3.3125ft
15,680÷3.3125= 4,734 ohms/ft
I think.....

The wires are premade, so that is with the boots, but I subtracted the boot overhang. So the length is true terminal to terminal.

They're probably on par with Accel. That's actually one reason why I was interested in them, the car is blue.

I'll keep the Accel set unless the fit is way off. Not a whole lot less resistance in them vs AC Delco, but they're less money than stock replacement. You get what you pay for I suppose.

Wow that is on the high side but probably not the end of the world. I know sometimes the crimp can be off and that changes resistance a lot.

That's what I thought too. Will have to check the original wire set to the car. The Delco Packards.
