Hey all I'm getting ready to swap out the 7.5 for a 8.5. I have umi upper and lower control arms along with a umi drag sway bar kit. I also have the drive shaft needed for the swap. I have a general knowledge of how to do it but was looking for some suggestions that might make thing go more smoothly.. I also dont want to send a coil sailing through the neighbor's sliding glass door Haha. Car is a 79 Malibu

Couple easy steps to follow:
  1. Wrap 8.5 and corresponding driveshaft in foil.
  2. Strap it to a pallet.
  3. Send it to me.
I'll take care of it.

Unbolt remove install its that easy

The rear springs wont shoot out unless your car is 2 feet high in the *ss

Probably the most annoying thing will be the e-brake

I've got quite a bit of time and money tired up in it. All new bearings and seals. Moser axles rebuilt factory carrier with all new spiders, clutches and a heavier spring. New ring and pinion ect..
