I cant believe there isnt someone on this forum thats come up with a solution for this besides AN lines.
using cunifer tubing
As quoted making lines out of cunifer would be the best way to get something easy to cut/flair/shape to make your cooler lines for the TH400. Make them your way so you can keep a nice clean set of lines. Use the old lines as a pattern until you get so close to the transmission then make the adjustment to fit the TH400. I'd also suggest brass nuts over steel ones.

I always make my own trans lines. Either out of coated steel or NiCopp.

I never liked how the factory lines were all convoluted and twisted. I make mine with as few bends as possible to keep it nice and clean.

Forget about stainless tubing. That's a great way to aggravate yourself.

I guess thats what I'll wind up doing. Its a pain in the butt to make one and Ive got to do two. UGH !!!! I would gladly pay someone to make these stupid things but I cant find anyone. I guess everyone thinks its a pain. LOL
As far as fittings, I always use brass.
Do you know if the top line goes to the top of the radiator ? Ive been told not all trannys are the same.

I can't remeber which one is which. But if you could become a member of the third pedal club you wouldn't have to worry about those lines.

these guys are rite, the stainless is a ****.even w/the annealed stuff.unless you've got that bad *ss hand held hydraulic version or the bench vise version it isn't worth it.the cunifer/nicopper line is much easier.if you're bent(no pun)onstainless make them outta the coppa and send them out to be made in stainless.

Sad thing is I knew a guy that could do this kind crap with his eyes closed. And he had one of those expensive flaring tools. He used to build race/pro street cars in a shop behind his house. Pretty amazing guy. He passed away a few years ago.

AN lines are the solution that's why no one has come up with something else.

I think what they're telling you is they don't have a line set for that, and have no interest in making one.

Put a T400 in a 79 Malibu back in 89, but no recall on what steel lines we used, and it went to a cooler up front.

I don't see why a set of A body lines couldn't be modified to work.

Even the pre-bent sets need tweaking, I just installed a set on the T350 in my coupe.

I can not believe there are "NO" lines that will work in a GBody for a 400

Nothing has changed between the engine and trans.

Lines come out of the trans and follow up the side of trans and engine.

InLine simply says nothing works because they cannot think outside the box.

Hell even the direct replacement lines they make are different from the factory lines.

The only difference which would be miniscule (fancy word) would be the radiator cooler location.

Shoot me a text in the morning.
