Well, this is my first carburetor car I've ever own. Had one of those plastic body Demon carburetor's when I bought it, and a tank and lines full of crap and old gas. Put in new fuel and cleared the lines a bit. Ran some fuel system cleaner in the gas too. However, the filter was still full of crap and seems like they wired the choke wrong and it's wasn't getting any power either. So honestly, the car ran but it felt real doggish. On top of that the throttle linkage was a big mess and I think the trans kickdown cable was limiting the throttle travel cause WOT was impossible. I tuned it with a vacuum gauge and adjusted all the throttle linkage best I could.

Well, about a month ago I got my Quick Fuel Slayer 600. But me being me, I didn't realize I needed to order the double feed fuel line for it, so I went to install it and realized. So then I had to wait for that to come in. Once it did, I went to install it againbut failed to realize that the Demon carb was a different style and the adapter/spacer wasn't going to work, and I couldn't mount it without a spacer because it would have all sorts of clearance issues. So I took the old carb off, cleaned and inspected it thoroughly, tried to remedy the sticky secondaries, replaced the fuel filter and put it back on, but it was still a dog.

Well, today the new spacer finally came in and finally I was able to get everything on. Ran a new cable to the fuse box for the choke too. Well, started right up, and took it for a drive. Wow, this thing definitely has some guts now. Haha. I think I love this car again. And I'm not connected the trans kickdown either, it doesn't need it being it's a TH350 and a light car. Well, just wanted to say I highly recommend these Quick Fuel Slayer carbs. Even right out the box without tuning, it runs like a champ. And it looks great too. I'll post some pictures when I get on my computer later. I don't know why it won't let me post through my phone.

I too can no longer post pics off my phone. Everyone who runs the Quickfuel version of the Holley like them, very tunable as well. The Street Demon 625 is probably set too rich as is, they come set up for a 9+ to 1 SB with a bigger than stock cam. A guy with a 8 to 1 stock Olds 350 had to lean it out a lot, gained performance and 4 mpg. Was the goggle valve secondary sticking in the stock manifold bores on the Street Demon? If it was a 750 SD, I would buy it off you. A Performer or similar intake sheds weight and gets rid of the awkward transition from square to spreadbore. Glad to hear the Quickfuel was great out of box.

You were right on the money. This new carb is a world of difference. I think I'll order a new kick down cable, don't think the one on there is right for the TH350. When I was under fixing the column shift selector I found a kick down cable mount which is supposed to be bolted somewhere under the car was just hanging loose.

I doubt it was a 750. Probably their most basic 600. I'd send it to you if you cover shipping. It's just sitting in storage now where it can't give anyone else any headaches. Haha.

This was the old fuel filter. Had to definitely replace it before putting in the new carb.
