No SPID tag to show the RPO or conversion company tags not a 2+2. Wouldn't the cars be shipped incomplete for the ease to put in the parts for the conversion?

we hear of these stories all the time.... special build, 1 off car, exec had special permission to order items on the checklist that weren't supposed to go together, etc..., that being said, this could be one of these cars, but without proper documentation, all they're worth is the going rate for a GP with a Lauren engineering nose, and a great story....

What got me about this story is the 14 years between the OP’s 1st posting and yesterday! Is that a record?:)

When I see these so called “unicorns” I go back to the old “my dad knew someone who owned a dealership who had Detroit connections and got a 350 from a Camaro put in a Monte, a dual snorkel air cleaner from the factory, etc....... “

As others wrote, and I agree with, that without verifiable paperwork, it is bogus.

I just noticed that not only the "facts" on it rarity are wrong so is the spelling of "Montee". So there is the "rare" 2+2, SS 454 Monte, '84 Regal GS that I saw in Pittsburgh in the late '90's, now I need to see an ultra rare "factory" Olds to add to the unicorn G cars.

An, the Rallye 350. Reminds me of another story. Wonder where all the urethane coated bumpers got off to? I've heard many stories of the public not digging all that yellow and dealerships putting chrome bumpers on them just to get them sold. I never seen a Rallye with chrome bumpers, and I've seen several. Not saying it didn't happen, but I've yet to see one where it did.

Kinda like this one...all I can say is, without supporting evidence/paper work...…...

I worked with a guy that had a W45 F85 sedan....with chrome bumpers. This was in 1986, so a lot could have happened between new and then. Give me a few, I have a crappy polaroid around here somewhere.

Gonna have to dig for it I guess...not where I thought it was.

Was the real deal, 4 spoke wheel, 70 only sport mirrors, OAI, wing, no paint code, correct grilles.

I owned a "common" one a few years later, and missed buying his a couple years ago.
