I have the paint codes from the Olds forum, so it looks like a trip to the paint shop is in my near future. Thanks for following along, guys.

I basically had the same car (same colors too) except mine was a four-door ordered with a 5-speed manual trans.:wtf:
Very cool you are doing something with a '78 Salon!

I saved some stuff out of mine when I parted it out. I have the factory rallye gauge package saved if you're in the market. I also have a driver side remote mirror. One rear tail lamp assembly (driver side), grilles and headlight surrounds, and clutch/brake pedal assembly (steering column too!). If you are ever in need of any of it, let me know!

I'll PM you regarding the parts. Thank you!

I didn't go around you. I responded to his ad in the "for sale" section.

I saw it after I spoke to him. He didn’t tell me he had listed any of the parts in the “ for sale “ section, so I thought the timing was a little coincidental, Lol. All good Joe ( both of you ).

It's out of your way but I really like the Tasco paint shop on Cavalcade (formerly AJ Foyt Paint). It's handy to my work. They have a big location on Veterans Memorial, just south of the Beltway. After painting my dash and interior with SEM, it is all I would recommend.

Beltway & Veterans is on my way to work. Did you have them actually mix the code for you, and then put it in aerosol cans?? OR did you buy the color off the shelf??
Thanks Jared!

It's been a couple weeks since my last update. I have sourced a few more quality interior plastics. I bought some lower rear sail panels from a Forum Member in really good shape, and a very nice price. I have the arm rests, too. I removed them to clean them up - really good shape. I'm very happy. Thanks Ken!

I also bought a trunk lid, rear license plate filler, and rear window trim from another great Forum Member. All in really nice shape. I couldn't ask for better parts, as they are 40 years old. Thanks Derrick!

Straight off the Wisconsin farm... gotta love the bumper sticker, :giggle:.

I cleaned up that rear filler, and it's in really nice shape. It will go nicely with the stay-down license plate holder I robbed off a 3rd Gen Camaro. The window trim does not have a single ding. I cleaned these up in the sink, and all the plastic liners are in great shape, as well. I'm very happy with these parts.

I also made a purchase from Summit. Used their promo code to save $20 off a $100 purchase, and then got free shipping. I got a pair of new front rotors to help complete the Blazer front brake swap ( getting closer ), and also got several cans of paint to help me move forward.

The front rotors are from Bendix. They used to be one of the biggest names in brakes. For $18 each, I felt I couldn't go wrong. For anyone doing the Blazer swap, this would be a cheap way to get new parts on your G ride.

I got Red for the calipers. Black for the caliper hat brackets. Silver for the backing plates. I did the same on my GN, and it still looks great 3 years later.
I got some trunk paint. It's the Black/Grey spatter paint. I figured I would paint the trunk with a semi-gloss Black first, then top coat with the spatter??
I also got that expensive OER interior paint for the plastics. OER is the only brand readily available in a rattle can, and it has good reviews. I'm going to try it and see for myself, before I spend anymore $$ on that. If it matches, I'll bite the bullet and buy more. If not, then I will have the paint shop mix some up. I have the original codes.

I have other parts I'm fixing to purchase. I've already made deals with Forum Members for:
- interior B-pillar caps
- Rally gauge cluster
- 4 speed manual pedal assembly ( yep, it's going to be a 403 / T10 4 speed )
- BOP bell housing

I have many parts I have accumulated over the Winter, and now that Daylight Saving Time kicks in this weekend, and warmer weather is just around the corner, it's time to GET BUSY!!

MANY THANKS to Ken, Derrick, Joe, and all of you that follow/comment on this project. Suspension will be completed soon, and the tires/wheels will be on. The steering column, and interior plastics will be painted soon. Body work will start this Spring/Summer. My Ram will be paid off in August, and I will get my shop space back... (y).
James-
