Hey Guys needs some advice. I'm installing new steels and weather stripping on 87 Monte with OEM T-Tops. For the love of me I can't get the front weather stripping to Go under the front Trim piece and get both side to go into the channel.. If that makes any sense.. Any Idea's? I put front trim on loose and tried to get it, no go, tried the back channel of the front first.. I have the Kit from Mikes montes. so any idea's or recommendations would be cool. Frustating at the least...

Does anybody have any Pictures of the Tops off up close. I would Like to see the weather stripping and the Black steel pictures, and how much Gap is in between.

Here is Picture of mine and a new part. Mine channel is just like the one in the Picture, so If I understand it, all trim has to be on car first then you tuck the weather stripping under the trim? Now question is does anyone have any idea's on how to get that done. Mine is almost impossible...hahaha

I’m pretty sure that trim goes in after the seals. Did you get the new foam that goes on top of the trim?

When I replaced the t top weatherstripping in my 88 SS Monte Carlo I set all the weatherstrips in the welded in channels first. Then locked them in with the body reveal trim. This is where a O-Ring pick or a scratch awl comes in handy to locate the pre drilled holes. I managed to do the same at the rear by only tightening the center trim screw before installing the seals. Go to a craft store or hobby store and pick up a package of "Popsicle Sticks", they are a valuable tool for tucking seals in without damaging them.
Good Luck!

Thanks Guys I got it. My fault on the replacement weather stripping channels. I put the channel tight in the frame, I had to move it back all the way to the new T-Top steels.. If that makes any sense. Once you do the job it will. Then I started on the inside of the T-top and worked my way out tucking the front lip under the windshield trim. It turned out good...

A final fitment question, when My windows are up all the way there is a slight gap between window and the T-top weather stripping. Is there a way to adjust this? I was hoping once it sits in the sun it will give a bit and move around..

I think you have to go into the door and either add new sweeps or make an adjustment to something. My driver door glass is loose and doesn't sit properly. My passenger door glass is tight and fits right in.
