Tried looking up the numbers on the stall converter I have on my car but no luck. Anybody know what this is?

That would explain the so so performance. What does it flash to? I have found the the D9 converters flash to around 1900 rpm, which isn't as bad as the 1500-1600 stall some put out.

When you floor it, what rpm does the tach climb to before it moves? With that cam, you need a 2500 stall. Of course then a big trans cooler is a good idea to help keep it cool. A what rpm does the trans shift at full throttle? The stock 3000 to 4000 rpm is no good.

I wanna say around 1800rpm or so is when it feels like it actually wants to go

That sounds right for a stock stall speed. You want at least 4500 rpm for shift points, full throttle. Basically, the small weight on the governor needs shaved a bunch. Seriously look at a 2500 rpm stall, you won't think it is the same car. Plus the lock up takes care of extra slippage at highway speeds. But around might generate more heat, which is why an auxiliary trans cooler is a good idea.

I have a parts list that I want to throw on the car this year. Stall, Trans cooler, shift kit, deep trans pan. Then mini starter (to stop heat soak), 750 carb, upper/lower control arms (new OE arms with moog parts) then headers.
