Discovered the Jr. mechanic found out how to work the radio in the truck with out keys or the 10 min time delay feature. Wondering when I should stop trusting him...

Take 4

Bought some good filler this time, this stuff is light weight easy sanding stuff and man, it made a big difference. Honestly I've always used BONDO brand filler and never had good luck with it, hard as a rock to sand and never feathered well into the steel.

Also cut the rust off the drivers side and started cutting the patch panels. Passenger side isn't as bad on the surface but the lip was worse.

Did a fairly large service on the Cub Cadet today. I change the oil and grease the zerks every spring and fall and the belts are not in bad shape, but I haven't done much else in probably a year or two.

So I hosed the dirt off it, changed the oil and oil filter, changed the plugs, changed the fuel filter, changed the air filter and cleaned the pre-air filter with soap and water as per the manual, because it's impossible to find a replacement. The grease zerks on the deck spindles snapped off a few years ago and up until now I've been too lazy to mess with them. But today I pulled the deck off, removed the spindles, drilled them out and tapped for new grease fittings. I was pleasantly surprised to find Made in USA Timken bearings inside the spindles! Won't get that on a new mower! Anyways it should be good to go for a little while now.
