Hey everyone here is a little update on my find. I loaded up my ls1/4l60e and all my Holley conversion parts and took the car to my buddy's shop a few weeks ago. It is getting the 98k mile ls1 swapped in and the 8.5 442 rearend i have. So much for just getting the 3.8 running. Lol. I spend more money on cars worth $1500 than i should. Oh well you might as well do what makes you happy.

Out with the 3.8 door stop and in with the 5.7. I have more money in the Holley swap parts than i do in the car, engine, and trans combined. Lol! Should be a fun beater when i am done.

I'm super jealous... My 80 has so much rust its crazy I don't have tetanus already! I saw that car but all the good buys are in that Nevada AZ area and the Midwest is just full of money traps.

The rust free cars are here but not so much the good deals. People want stupid amounts for complete junk out here. You have to jump quickly when something nice pops up. The nice ones are usually being sold by relatives of older people who have passed on and they inherited grandpas "old car".

The clamps have been removed after the exhaust was welded up. Can't wait to drive this.

I am not a huge LS fan or the near worthless 4L60-70E but with EFI and 3.73 gears there will be a slight improvement over the 3.8/TH200/2 something gearing combo😉😏.

Nice find and it's coming along nice. Finding rust free G-bodies in Ohio is like hitting the Lottery, very rare. I'm a big 1978/80 Cutlass fan. Keep us informed of your progress. Thanks

I grew up in Southwest Ohio and know too well about rust. It was hard in the 90s back there to find rust free Gbodys when they were plentiful. I can only imagine how it is today.

The pypes rear tail pipes are ridiculous looking. They are going to be chopped and turned down behind the tires.
