After all the grief you've had with this cold case I think I'm going with a Champion. I feel bad for you. For as much as they charge for that radiator you should not be dealing with this sh*t.

What makes it sadder is bought off Fleabay, burnt a good discount code, had get Fleabay to make the seller ship it which in turn it was drop shipped from Cold Case. Signs I should of punted instead of trying the long drive to a 1st down while on a 4th down. Sound simular to the Pypes story...

Ugh, that's salt to the wound. Yeah you have had it rough with some supposedly "quality" brands. Your Pypes story makes me a bit leery of the kit I was looking at, the Pypes SGG10. It's the angled kit that exits behind the tires and is supposed to be okay but your tribulations aren't very reassuring.

I still have a good drivers side tail pipe & the X pipe squatting in the garage not paying any rent. I really gotta get rid of them end that nightmare.

Some people have luck, some don't. DoubleV is another one on here with terrible luck on products. I am still planning on one for my 70S, with the .039" planned overbore, extra stroke, cubes and compression, I will need the biggest rad possible. I am swapping in my 70 rad into my 88, it is going to be very tight.

It looks like for what I want to do it would work I only use my top plate on my olds and I made a custom shroud for my fans but I think more research is in order

Did some more work on the shroud. Had to fix how the two halves went together, noticed that the upper saddle pad locations of the shroud needs some fine trimming so there is no contact between the plastic & tank. There are four #12 screw holes from the electric fan that was on it that'll need filled & cleaned up. I'm thinking I might use some rubber foam weather strip to fill the gap from me cutting the ribs to make it fit the radiator. Also hearing crickets from Cold Case on the needed work for direct fit that needs work to fit.

Do you think a Cutlass style fan shroud would work better?

I'm not sure. Thought about those the other week when I was at the junk yard I looked at the Cutlass's there but all were busted, bent, or just out right abused. But this extra one works for now to see how it works. Worse case, someone will get a fairly good deal on a radiator when it gets me pissed enough. But another note on it is I was glad I picked up a '78-'79 upper hose as the '80-'88 one is too small for the rad.
