A year or so ago, I purchased a pair of the long tubular braces from a 1978 Monte Carlo, that run from the center of the cowl panel to the outer corners of the rad support. I want to install these braces on my 1980 Malibu. I have found dimples in the cowl area, which I'm assuming are where the holes should be drilled to install the braces to the cowl. One dimple is in front of the pivot for the passenger side wiper arm, and the other is to the left of the distributor. Am I right in assuming that these are the mounting points for the cowl end of the braces? Also, where exactly do the rad support ends of the braces bolt to? If anyone has any photos of the braces installed, showing where they're bolted, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure you're correct about the dimples. I'd just lay them in there and see if they fit. At their length, they should locate themselves.

You can see where they mount on my car. They are cool, but make any working on the engine difficult. I took 1/2" EMT conduit and made ones to replace the tiny cutlass braces.
