They are the cometic mls gaskets so possibly they are leaking?
Do you know what the surface finish is on your block and heads? Cometic requires a 50 RA or finer to work properly and must be installed dry.

Im honestly not sure on the finish. I know they looked fine but i dont know what they used for the surface when they machined the block. Thinking about swapping out to the felpro head gaskets i have just to see if itll help

I agree with TURNA, at 230 degrees you should not be getting gysers from the rad and overflow. Sounds like exhause gases getting into the coolant by a cracked head or a head gasket

WTF we agree?!?!?!?!?!?!

HOLY **** THE END IS NEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you install a serpentine belt system? If so make sure the water pump is rotating in the proper direction. The motor is getting hotter than 230 imo. Sounds to me there is no coolant flow. I would be looking at the pump. Start with the simple things first. Don't just dive into the motor and pull it apart before checking the simple thing first. Its not hard to narrow things down with good detective work. Relax and go over in your head how the cooling system works. If ya have to write things down.

Stock v belts and Hi volume water pump, Pump seemed to be working pretty well and the radiator was dropping the temp 50-60 degrees from inlet to the outlet with my temp gun while the fans were running. We ran a compression test on all cylinders and #1 was 180psi and then #3 was 165 and then #5 and #7 were right around 155. Then #2 was 145, #4 was 165 and then #6 and #8 were both just shy of 155. We went ahead and pulled the heads anyways just to make sure and have them pressure checked, but i'm thinking that the MLS head gaskets i had weren't sealing right between a cylinder and water port but couldn't verify fully. After we pulled the heads I saw that the guy who build the short block probably didn't actually deck the block, he just cleaned it up with a roloc or something. which would definitely give sealing issues with the MLS gaskets.
