How do you not actually sell a car? List it for double the real value of course!

This thing is Exactly what I'm looking for but it's realistically worth $20K. That's it.

Stock everything sucks and literally thousands need to be thrown at it to make it run safely and not blow the head gaskets out the side of the block.

Paint is probably toast so there's another $5K.

Unfortunate. :(:(

Strange. That's the same strategy I use with my wife to avoid selling anything.

Don't worry about what you can't have or refuse to pay whatever price. Plus, you're sour-graping that 87. Something you shouldn't really do because it sounds like you're whining about it with the added bonus that you're not getting the car anyway. It's ok, I do it too; hell, we all do to a certain degree when we feel something is priced a bit too high than market values. Search for what's in your budget. Add to your budget in the meantime so you can afford to pay the premium for a nice car you won't have to repaint.

Happiness isn't found in a day. Be patient and you'll find the car you want eventually. Here's an old codger story for you...I remember a time when you used to have to thumb through Drag Times or Hemming's Motor News (the big dark golden book) back in the day. Weren't no interwebs. Took a LONG time to find, document, and get pictures (mailed to you) and it was just a pain in the butt just to find out it wasn't the car for you. So it could be worse! :)

I've seen the car. Its in good shape. The paint is pretty good, and its only original once. Granted, some replacement parts have been painted to match, but the majority of the paint is original, and looks good. The seller has put a bunch of time, effort and $$$ into the car, to get it into good shape. I understand what you're saying about the asking price. Out of respect for the seller, I have no comment on that. I don't know if you're seriously looking for a car like this or not. If you are, contact the seller, and have a chat with him. Maybe there's room for compromise.

Dude, my wife is in great shape for being the same age and rarity (with some nice options and a few replacement parts). But, ain't no one paying me twice what she's worth.

I'd loose my @$$ & half my stuff if I tried to trade/get rid of the wife & she's almost two years newer than me.
