I've heard it talked about on here in good favor. My car, even with a new rad likes to creep up in temp at a stop. take off, it goes down again. the fan is an oddly sharp 5 blade i took off a 229 v6 at the junkyard with my 2 year old clutch on it.

Get the 4 blade solid fan and adapter Briguy bought for his 403.

w/killer results too
Second guy on the site with 403 in a G body to see a substantial drop with that 4 blade fan. I haven't seen over 195 even without a shroud in my 70 Cutlass.

I've been using a 7-blade Monte SS clutch fan with good results. Prior to that, a 7-blade Hayden flex fan. Noisy, but it kept it cool.

I do have a 8 blade fan off the 5.9 Magnum in my Dakota. Looks like it will fit the 307 Clutch but might be backwards.

A fixed fan basically exes out any performance gain you may have realized by putting a 403 in your car to begin with.

Could put an auxiliary electric fan on the front. Use a heavy duty switch to control the relay and source the power from a circuit that's only on with the ignition so if you forget to turn it off then it won't matter.

Can keep a fan that has some concession to economy/performance and give it that little extra cooling capacity when needed without reverting to 1890s technology.

As much as it cools, I am just not a fan of a solid fan.
