I need a gasket for my 1979 Cutlass Hurst with the 5.7.
The gasket I need is the one that has 3 holes in it
On the passenger side
The pipe goes from the combined exhaust to the cat converter.
I need the gasket that goes above that 3 bolt flange with the bolts with springs on them.

Can any one help?

Using search data leads me to all sorts of places......I've posted a few pics to help locate the gasket I need.

The first photo is a shot from under the car, the other two are from the top and you can see the missing gasket hole between the flanges.

Donut gasket: GM p/n 1262500. Discontinued from GM. Have to go aftermarket on that.

Those are standoff bolts with springs on that pipe. PB Blaster those threads, let it soak and then go for it. If you say they're already loose, then you're golden.

Dorman has new bolt/spring sets under p/n 03137 if you booger any of them up as the GM stuff is discontinued on these too. Sold as a package of 1 spring with one bolt. Purchase if needed.

According to the GM parts book, 260-350 A-body uses the same donut gasket. The listing specifically says for 79 A-body for 350N or R. You have a 350R.

Check the springs on the exhaust bolts and make sure they're still stiff and relatively corrosion-free. You don't want them failing on you or you'll get an instant big azz exhaust leak. Those bolts are pretty sturdy so they'll probably be ok.

1262500 is the GM gasket they put in your car to begin with.

Felpro 60755 is the equivalent part.

Mahle F7207 is another brand/part number equivalent.

Walker 31413 will fit your car as well.

Pick one.

final question, I hope.....what is the normal policy on putting anti-seize on the bolts that attach the lower pipe
from the Cat up to the manifold on passenger side?

Yes?

NO?

Any logic not to???????
